1911 census

I was taking a look for names on the 1911 census for Wethersfield Essex it has no christian ames just Mr,
Mrs , Miss thatis a shame this is on ancestry and I suppose it is the same on any other.

That's curious because I think the 1911 census was filled in by the householder. Why would they all do the same thing, not use christian names?

Was you looking at the above Margaret?...I don't think Essex is on the 1911 Ancestry yet, (unless I'm wrong)...

I was looking for Mary Finch Alfred Finch in fact any Finch families that were there at the time thanks

Margaret was looking in the summary book - there all the heads of household are listed as Mr/Mrs/Miss/etc.

Thank you Chris I really thought ancestry had finished the 1911 census I wonder when it will be done.

Margaret, on Ancestry you can look at the image of the actual form if you find them on a summary sheet.

In the case of Mr Finch living at Wethersfield, click on the image and above the image is a box that says Essex > Wethersfield > District 5. Note the schedule number (71 in this case).

Now get any 1911 census image displayed. In the box above click on the county name, change that to Essex from the dropdown menu, likewise change the parish to Wethersfield and district to 05.

Now double the schedule number and type it (142) in the image box and click on Go. That will take you to the required page.

This does not always work exactly, as some houses may use more than one page and somtimes some are missing, but the image you want will usually be within a few images of that displayed by the above method.
