Thomas returning to Canada after a holiday. He was a Canadian citizen heading home to 184 Osler Ave., West Toronto. It has the date of his previous entry to Canada but hard to make out date, think it's 10 April 1910.

You can do a look up For Thos's attestation at: http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/cef/index-e.html
Name: MARKS, THOMAS Rank: CPL Regimental number(s): 163394 Reference: RG 150, Accession 1992-93/166, Box 5929 - 2 Date of Birth: 26/01/1895 Attestation paper: Front of form - Back of form
His attestation papers say he's a car repairer
So I think he's the Thos living at 81 Blackthorne Ave in 1921: http://archive.org/stream/torontodirec192100midiuoft#page/1050/mode/1up
I don't know who's listed at: http://archive.org/stream/torontodirec192100midiuoft#page/163/mode/1up Maybe the head of household, so Thos may be just a lodger. Anyways, Blackthorn is between Eglington & St Clair, just W of Prospect Cemetery. Only the S end of Blackthorn is in the modern Toronto city boundaries. (All the other Thos Marks's live on Streets within the modern boundaries.)

Oh thanks for all that , Its so exciting to find out the little extra things that do make it all seem real and very often triggers a memory . Bill knew he was in the Canadian services but did not know he was born in Wellington . Where in fact we all were born .
We moved house last year and dont live there anymore it was hard to leave for Bill after 76 years . But we are happy here . Thanks very Much
I started this ancestry looking for my Aunt getting nowhere , but seem to be hijacked by my Husbands family. Thanks again Sweet xxx <3

I just looked up a similar # to Thos's
The LAC search portal is: http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/cef/index-e.html One can do the search and see his attestation papers. One can also take the "search help" link to decode service #s (you want p 20 - Military District 2 is Central ON and 163394 is an 84th battalion #) There are also links to say how you can buy his service record, and how you can see the 75th bn's War Diaries
The 75th Battalion, which was authorized on 10 July 1915 as the '75th "Overseas" Battalion, CEF', embarked for Great Britain on 29 March 1916. It disembarked in France on 12 August 1916, where it fought as part of the 11th Infantry Brigade, 4th Canadian Division in France and Flanders until the end of the war. The battalion was disbanded on 15 September 1920.
The 84th Battalion, which was authorized on 10 July 1915 as the '84th "Overseas" Battalion, CEF', embarked for Great Britain on 18 June 1916. On 30 June 1916, its personnel were absorbed by the '73rd "Overseas" Battalion, CEF', 75th "Overseas" Battalion, CEF' and other units of the 4th Canadian Division, to provide reinforcements for the Canadian Corps in the field. The battalion was disbanded on 11 April 1918. http://www.cmp-cpm.forces.gc.ca/dhh-dhp/his/ol-lo/vol-tom-3/par2/tsr-eng.asp
The 75th bn was one of 4 bns in the 11th brigade. The 11th bde was one of 3 bdes in the 4th Canadian Division. The 4th div was part of the Canadian Corps, which eventually had 4 divs.
