Hi,
If the Christopher Tennant Moss who died 1855 aged 25yo is the one we are after,,,so birth about 1830...that would make him only 12yo at the 1842 marriage..

But there was also this earlier marriage in England for a Christopher Tennant Moss, that Reggie posted earlier.

Is this the same guy???? If so, what happened to the wife he married in Kent?

Dartford is in Kent

Information on trees on ancestry is that Lt Christopher Tennant Moss of No 1 Company 6th Battery Royal Artillery who was killed at the storming of Sebastopol in 1855 at the age of 25 years during the Crimean War

This means that he was born about 1830.

His wife is shown as Elizabeth, with marriage occurring in Ireland, and his son William Tennant Moss born ca 1855, in Ireland.

If the above records are for the right person - he was older than 25 when he died at Sebastopol

As it is the SON who is described as being directly descended from these people, you must follow his mother's line.

Who was she?

I have an obituary from the Argus in Melbourne 10 Feb 1942 which tells of my rels. William Helton (father) and William Leo (son) Daniell deaths. It says that the son was a direct descendent of Sir Charles Tennant of England, great grandson of Sir William Macartney BT Donegal Ireland, great grandfather was Lt Christopher Moss killed in the Battle of Sebastopol (Crimea), his uncle Leo killed in the last war (WW1), and grandfather was Inspector of Police in Sydney. I have proof of the last 3 items, but am trying to get from William Leo to Sir Charles Tennant, to Sir William Macartney BT, and to Lt Christopher Moss family tree wise. Is this an easy! bridge to cross? I have spent weeks on this and got dead ends, but many new family trees found! Any help would be appreciated. I want to point out that Danniell, Moss, Tennant families already feature in this branch of my tree.
