I found a newspaper clip from The Era 6/6/1896 which explains the circumstances of my Gt Gt grandfather Joseph Campbell's death

It says in the very last sentence that he leaves a son who is musical conductor at The Palace Sunderland

In 1896 the only son I think it could be was David Stewart Campbell b1869 Bedlington Northumberland who was a professional musician. Ive tried to find out if there is anything about him/ his job/ by googling but no luck so far

If anyone could try the British Newspaper Archive for me for a mention of him I'd be grateful David himself died in February 1897 in Newcastle.
I have the copy of David's Letters of Admin which I sent for from the Ancestry list. He left everything (such that there was!) to his mum Margaret

Should say googling Palace and Sunderland gives you a lot of football................ but not much on music !! ;-)
