Still screwing my eyes up at this one!

That "S" in Sun doesn't look like the "S" in Staffordshire on the line above. It looks more like "L" = "Lin" ie kings Lynn. I am looking for Robert Bird born Gayton - not far from Kings Lynn, Norfolk.

zzzzz

Yes that is him

with his parents in 1861 in Gayton.
not sure about 1871 - Bardon yorks???
1881 with wife Alice in Barrow on Humber (found a marriage to an Alice Foreman in Hull) not sure if this is it.

He marries in 1896 to Sarah McCraig in Fulham, Hammersmith
I have them at 34 Montague St, Fulham with 2 children in 1901.
He is on the electoral roll in 1900 at the same address.

Thing is.
Is it him in Barden in 1871?
Is he married to Alice really in 1881?
What happened to Alice between 1881 and 1896?
Where is Robert in 1891?

Checked for birth on fmp there is Robert Bird Freebridge Lynn born 1849. I think he is your man.
Marriage to Alice Foreman 1880 in Hull.

Margee: It is difficult, but I thought the first letter looked like the L in Lodger.

Brummiejan: No sorry, this isn't him. His father is Samuel Bird

I have him in 1881 with wife Alice in Barrow on Humber, Lincs. But I can't find a marriage for him or the couple in 1891. It is a mystery.

Very hard to make out what it is. I thought it looked like Tun, Norfolk but there doesn't seem to be any such place.

Could someone verify a place of birth on a 1871 census please.
It is for Robert Bird age 21 who is a lodger at Bardon, Yorks with Henry Ducket as Head.

It gives his birthplace as Sun, Norfolk but I think it could read Lin (Lynn) Norfolk. I am looking for Robert who was born in Gayton, Nofolk which is registration district Freebridge Lynn. He was born in 1850.

He is proving difficult to find since being with his family in 1861 in Gayton!

Your oppinions would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
