	Don't no about on GR but on freebmd you can enter surname and the mmn this will bring up the most likely results first, bear in mind that mmn was only added to the index in sept 1911 freebmd is not fully up to date they are up to around 1950/60's before 1911 you can narrow it down by cross referencing with census info Roy

	If the surname is uncommon there are usually very few 'hits' - or do you mean prior to 1911?

Member Since: February 2004 Posts: 1 Send Message	Dear all, Is there a 'simple' way of finding out whether a particular person (with I think a fairly uncommon name) and his partner later wife had children other than putting in the surnames and laboriously going through all the results for the area they am or may not have registered a birth? Many thanks DC
