You would need to visit the library nearest to that address

Depends on date and location

Is this to do with your question about Westminster ?

The registers on Ancestry are usually searched by name but it could be done, would takes ages, by looking at the images

Yes Glitter Baby this is connected to the first question. My grandparents were servants in number one Alderney Street, and I would like to know the names of their employers. This address is on my late mum's birth certificate.

I live in Ireland so would not be able to visit the Library.

Many thanks any way,

Regards, GinaS

In 1919 there is one name given
viz. Henrietta Hirsch who qualified by Occupation.

Ditto 1920

In 1921 she is joined by Joseph Beverton who qualifies by residence.

In 1922 she is there as Henrietta Randall. New husband George is not on the list. There are a couple of other Randall's at No.6 - James and Sarah Mary Ann.

Corrected Hirch to Hirsch in the previous post.

George and Henrietta Randall are in the Electoral Roll from 1923 to 1933 at 1 Alderney Street, in 1934 they are at 15 St George's Road and in 1935 at 44 Claverton Street.

Many thanks KenSe, as well as wanting to know who lived there in 1921, this dispels the family story - they worked for lloyd George!!

This also opens up more questions my grandmother Adele Marie Willems/Suin also worked there, according to my late mum's birth certificate,
Joseph Beverton was her father and he is on the certificate as a Chauffeur.
Adele Marie was Belgian and all I have is her name, one of my brick walls, as Begian records are not easy to use.

In 1925 Adele gives an address 11, St. Georges Road, Regents Park, may I please ask who was living there in 1921?

Many thanks,

GinaS

In 1921 at 15 St George's Road the entries were:
Jessie Edwards (occupation qualification) and
Robert John Edwards (residence qualification)

Ay ref:
Westminster > City of Westminster > 1921 > 858

Jessie and Robert John are also there in 1922 & 1923.

Sorry I don't know why I did no 15.

At No.11 were Edith Walker and Noel Stapylton Walker.
They were also there in 1922 & 1923.

Hello KenSe

Many thanks for this information, the Walker couple may be connected to the family. This part of my tree very complicated, a lot of family stories to either confirm or dispel, so thanks again KenSe,

Kindest regards, GinaS
