	try searching the Lancashire record office catalogue - just google lancat - let us know if you find him there othwise as Jan says google for Merseyside police. I do have an email address but it is 5 years old so could have changed. They were very helpful when I contacted them (we no luck as many records were destroyed but you may be lucky)
