Just been going through some really old stuff regarding my grandfather who's birth I have never been able to confirm. These items are about 15 years old. |

If its from Scotlands People then it would need units to view any info. |

Hi Kay"...... The birth occurred 29th May 1887 at Barony maternity hospital so why registered Denniston and Milton. I won't sleep tonight! ;-) |

The rules as to where a birth is registered are different in Scotland. |

Back in time, Milton was an area in the north of Glasgow ... later known as the Cowcaddens. |

As Helen has said Glasgow used to be made up of 4 parishes -City, Govan, Gorbals and Barony which included lands in the north of the city including Denniston and Milton. |

If an error was discovered in an entry, a corrected document may be issued if the correction cannot be made on the original and may be signed by another registrar. The need for a correction is usually written in the left side of the document showing which item in the original was incorrect. I once found dual documents at Register House Edinburgh relating to a birth in 1915 where the mother declared the father to be her husband (away at the War) and later admitted it was another man! |
