can anyone let me know how i can confirm a last known address for a family member, the last known address for the person was back in 1977. i hope i have posted this in the right place and not offended anyone. i need to confirm this address so that i can add a member to my family,really appreciate any help with this |

You would need to search electoral rolls at the nearest Main Library to the area. |

the address i have is in north shields, i live in the north of scotland so therefore difficult for me to go to that local library to search this. thankyou for your information |

the person i am trying to find has passed away now, and by confirming the address as his i can confirm that he is the person i am looking for, if he is, then i know that he still has sons that are allive and they have family too, and may be totally unaware of the reason i am searching |

Have you tried asking the staff at the archives to look for you? If you explain something of your difficulty I am sure they will be willing to help. There may be a charge, but I can see this is important to you so would be worth it. |

thanks everyone, i have been able to confirm that the gentleman i was looking for is connected to the last known address i have for him, and through your help i have now been able to attach my grandfather to my family tree, i appreciate all you help with this, thankyou thankyou thankyou :-D |
