Michelle there is a private tree on Ancestry with Mabel in, if it isn't already known to you, you could take a two week trial there and contact the tree owner?

OK, so going about it a different way

I guess this is your Gt Grandparents marriage

Ivy and Thomas

Reeves Ivy M Small Portsmouth 2b 716
Small Thomas H Reeves Portsmouth 2b 716

You will need to see this marriage cert, to learn their fathers name. Any chance that anyone has it?

Which was the very reason i posted with the link to the duplicate threads

or should duplicates now be accepted as the norm?

whats the point of guidelines if people don't read them and other members ignored them

The old "RTFI" comes to mind. But then I am as guilty. I asked a basic question and got answers. I should ? have known some of the answers. The FAQ's and HELP are not allways helpfull. They are written by profssionals. Yes there are posts by "subscribers". Have YOU read them?. Do they work? I'm getting old, I have to stop and think about the younger people I have working for me. I know the porblem and how to fix if (well most of the time). I have been to the SCHOOL of LIFE, Not everybody knows what I know......
Best whishes all keep up the good work. May be one day I can help somebody here.
