See if this works:

Go to Family Trees on Ancestry and double click. You will then get the chance to Manage Trees..click on this. In Tree Settings third tab along says Sharing..click this and you get Manage Invitees. Top right says + Invite People and select e-mail and fill in the person e-mail address. They should then be able to see your tree. You can also choose whether they can Edit or are just a Guest.

KenSE's suggestion is probably the best.

You can have a number of trees on one account.

Since you appear to have down loaded it from here as a GEDCOM, you can upload it as a new tree to Ancestry, giving it a different name to the one you presumably already have.

Actually, if the relevant mutual relations are already shown on your current Ancestry tree, how about just sending her an invite to that one?

Can't imagine why you were 'told off' for using the Ancestry site name - very strange

Look around - see how many references there are to the site on these boards

I know my comment won't 'put you off' - as your previous 'telling off' didn't

Can't you import the GEDCOM as a private tree on Ancest.y under your membership and then give her access to it?

Thanks again.

Did you try to send it thru Ancestry? If so, try exchanging your real email addresses, and sending it by regular email as an attachment.

Yes thats right Glitterbaby.

I think that i will just advise her to buy the 6months membership.

I presume you mean you exported your tree from this site and then tried to send as a GEDCOM to your relative

Sorry. I was told off when I used the name in full before.

Not a very constructive remark Reggie.

If you don't have any advice to give then sometimes it is better not to reply to a thread.

Your comment could ( but won't) put me off from asking for advice again.

I can only ask, you don't have to give.

If you mean Ancestry - just say so

MY RELLIE HAS JOINED GR SO WE CAN EXCHANGE INFO EASIER. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO TRIED TO HELP ME. i AM A SENILE COMPUTER ILLITERATE AND COULD NOT FOLLOW YOUR INSTRUCTIONS PROPERLY. SORRY.

Recently I have found a family member on Ances..y.
I have membership of that site and can view her tree.

However, she is NOT a GR member and cannot view my tree on here.
( I dont have my tree on the other site, use it only for research).

I have tried exporting my tree via email to her but it says the file is too big.

Please advise.
Would the easiest way be for her to buy 6months membership on here, view my tree, and take from it whatever she needs.

Thanking you in advance

Sylvia
