Hi there! Welcome to the boards.
Depends what you are after.
Up till 1901, Scottish census are available on Findmypast and Ancestry, so people with subs can do lookups for you.
For 1911 census and births, marriages & deaths you need Scotlands People which is a pay-per-view site.
You can also use Familysearch for parish records.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this and was wondering if anybody can help. I want to find the Scottish side of my family, but can't really do that on here. I have sent messages to people via their family trees, but unfortunately have not gotten replies.

Would it be be better if I also register onto a Scottish site.
