I'm trying to find out what I can about my Gran's sister but have hit a brick wall. She was born Cecilia Frances Kersey in 1878 in Chelsea ( I think) to William John Kersey, house painter, and his wife Frances Ann, and married Joseph Daly, gas engineer,on Aug.2nd 1897 at the register office in Holborn, London. Their residence at the time was 12 Malta Street, Clerkenwell. I can't find any trace of them after that---not in either the 1901 or the 1911 censuses that I can see, and I don't know where to go next . I'm not particularly good at this research but have managed to trace all my Gran's other siblings and would love to complete the set! Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Joseph was 23 when they married. The marriage in 1906 looks interesting---maybe she was divorced. I;ll have to follow that one up, but if that's not the one then the death record may merit a certificate purchase.

Thanks everyone, that's given me some lines to follow up. I can't find a death for Joseph Daly pre 1907 except a baby in Holborn which might be relevant. I have a concern about the 1911 census record, namely her birth year which was 1878, but Hilda would certainly be a possible as Cecilia had a sister called Hilda and the whole family were great at recycling names.

The way to find out for sure is to purchase the marriage cert

As for her age in 1911 - she probably just didn't want to show up as being older than her husband.
