Hi Folks,
I don't know if this has mentioned on the boards before, but I thought it might be worth a mention here.
Most larger libraries in Scotland sell SP vouchers.
The start up ones come with their own username and password and cost £7 for 60 credits, which is half the price of an online credit purchase.
The idea is that you then purchase top ups at £4.80 for another 30 credits .

Most of us who buy them, very rarely buy "top ups" and only use start up vouchers.
Once all the credits have been used on a start up, simply save all the SP info on a PDF and note the username and password under which the certs were purchased.
These vouchers sell out really quickly but are well worth it, if you can get hold of them

That's useful to know Anne, thanks.

I gather you can only buy them in person at libraries so I think my friends north of the border may be getting asked a favour!

Hi MarieCeleste,
If the library has a family history section, they usually have SP vouchers too.
I live in South Lanarkshire and at least 3 of our main libraries sell them, as does the Mitchell Library in Glasgow.
Register House ( Scotland's People Headquarters) in Edinburgh do not sell them because..... SP online is a separate, private company.
