Just seen Lesly Street where my grandmother lived in 1911 census

Just watched 'the Cally', saw Camberwell Grove last night (repeated late -about midnight I think) but also still possible to watch episodes 1 to 3 on iPlayer ( Deptford High Street was the first one)

I like a map

I like a free map more! (says to allow 28 days for delivery - might have to order a cert to keep me occupied)

Whilst ordering copies of the Booth maps is fun. What you really need to do is log on and see the diary that goes with it.

These were written often by the Policeman who walked the streets with Booth.

The only problem is in some cases just reading the writing, most written in pencil and some handwriting leaves a lot to be desired.

But the diary read in conjunction with the map, really brings it alive.

Many of these diaries have not been transcribed. You have to do this for yourself.
