He is on 192. Given that he was born so long after the marriage and is an only child, it would seem he was adopted.

Have you looked him up on 192.com (purchase credits) or http://www.thephonebook.bt.com (free)

You could also check on http://www.zoopla.co.uk/ under 'sold' prices to see if he is likley to have moved since the death was registered.

Its probably best to initiate contact by letter rather than turn up on the doorstep.

Brummiejan has already given you these contact details - the library may hold copies of the ER, or tell you who has. ER are only searchable by address.

For local history enquiries:
Telephone: 01934 426 010

The advice re the disposal of the bodies and contacting the Council is probably the best move. Don't assume they were buried - they could have been cremated and their ashes scattered. The Library (as above) may be able to tell you where the most likely Crematrium is located.

The email for Western-super- mare cemetery in Milton Rd is

[email protected]

It doesn't cost anything to ask!

Chances are Georgina's son was the informant on her death cert so you could get his address this way.

Hi,

thanks for your answers I have the death cert and Will for Georgina Vinten and she mentions her son by name (think he is still alive so don't want to give full details) however I have never been able to find a birth so I think he must have been adopted. I thought if I look at the electoral registers I might find out when his name was first given on them ie of voting age. I am out of England at the moment but will make some phone calls as soon as I get back.

NOt sure where I got the name of Jack but think it must have been from hs birth cert which is back in England.

Or the Record office might have information, that is how I found some in Hampshire. Not sure if it would come under Taunton.

The other thing, if the cemetery search doesn't work out, is to look for announcements in old newspapers. I would contact:

You could contact the cemetery offices direct. Google to see if you can get hold of their direct numbers.

I have done this in the past with Kensal Rise, and they were very helpful when I was trying to find my grandmothers grave.

You could also try the Council, who normally run the cemeteries, but do watch out, many will not answer questions like this over the phone and want you to either write or email and often charge for this service. As an example Wandsworth Council charge £30.00 per search. So if looking for 2 burials it will cost £60.00.

I wondered if anyone lives in that area i am coming down from Surrey to find more information on an Ambrose Jack Vinent who died there in 1998 and his wife Georgina Frances who died in 2005, any information on how to find where they were buried I have found cemeteries but cannot see who to contact for a list of who is buried there.
