	PM is a persanal message that you send to a person by clicking on send message under their name, it means what you write will only be seen by that person. Isnt the info I put for an Annie Dobson not correct ??

	PM = Private Message which you do by clicking on the 'send message' button under a poster's profile or their name on a thread. You can also contact someone the same way if you find a connection on 'Search Trees'. Most of the time when you ask for help, its better to reply on the thread so that everyone can follow and chip in. Obviously, in this case, you are dealing with potentially living people so care must be taken not to spread their personal details all over the www. GR is not a secure site from that point of view. Anything you post could be picked up in an internet search.

	so she married dad in her current surname .ie White ? have you found her birth and where have you looked for a marriage to Norman. Presume she isnt able to be asked ???

	i found ny mums detail on free bmd.org.uk it gave her married name and then said formaly and gave her maiden namethis was on the marrage cert to my dad hope this helps sally w

	Your mums father should be listed on the marriage cert so his surname will be her maiden name

	Where have you actually looked for the marraige? do you have any idea where Geographically it might have taken place? or when? Any children from the marriage? do you know your mothers maiden name?

Member Since: September 2006 Posts: 2 Send Message	On my mum and dad's 1949 marriage certificate, it states that my mum was "formerly the wife of Norman White from whom she obtained a divorce" I can find no record of this marriage in BDM records. Why might this be? and what can I do now? Is there any way I can find out about this marriage.
