My first marriage

I was looking for my first marriage in the indexes and couldn't find it!! Maybe I wasn't married after all (Wishful thinking) It turns out that they have spelt my maiden name wrong...How can I get this changed?? |

Not sure you can change it 'officially' but you can certainly change it on the record kept by Ancestry, FMP etc. |

Mine is wrong in the Ancestry records as well, but its been transcribed incorrectly. A cousin's marriage is completely wrong in the records. |

You'd need to ascertain that the spelling on the original register entry was correct - the GRO take their info from the records submitted by the various districts. |
