I was looking for my first marriage in the indexes and couldn't find it!! Maybe I wasn't married after all (Wishful thinking) It turns out that they have spelt my maiden name wrong...How can I get this changed??

Not sure you can change it 'officially' but you can certainly change it on the record kept by Ancestry, FMP etc.
PM me the details if you like & I'll have a look.
If using Ancestry you can also trawl through the index images manually for the relevant quarter, just in case it has been missed off..

Mine is wrong in the Ancestry records as well, but its been transcribed incorrectly. A cousin's marriage is completely wrong in the records.

As Jan says has it just been mistranscribed or is it incorrect on the actual image?

If on the original image I would imagine you would have to contact the GRO:

Sorry, I misunderstood, and thought you couldn't fins the transcription.
You can report it as a variation to Ancestry, but as it is impossible to see the image as the marriage is too late, as RutlandBelle says your only option is to contact the GRO.

You'd need to ascertain that the spelling on the original register entry was correct - the GRO take their info from the records submitted by the various districts.
