As we can't get him on a census, all we have to work back from if you have no further info is to start with FreeBMD. Does the mother's maiden name of Brown mean anything to you?

Surname First name(s) Mother District Vol Page

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Births Dec 1920 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rump George M Brown Mitford 4b 402

Of course this knocks his birth as being Feb.

If this turns out to be the correct family there are a number of births for Rump/Brown. All in Norfolk. Some might still be alive so I've not posted them on here.

Two are for Mitford including George and six for Smallburgh. The second Mitford one sits smack in the middle of the Smallburgh ones so perhaps not the same family. Although two quarters would make the births tight for time, we have discussed on here before how close together siblings are created/born.

It may be that you need to buy George's birth cert to be sure that you are starting with the right parents.

And as an afterthought.

There are two Rump/Brown marriages on FreeBMD.

...or if you know his age or full name, it would help, as there are others with similar names in the Norfolk area.

If he married, the father's name should hopefully be entered so that would be a start.

There are also several possibles on trees on here.

If you don't know how to check that out, click on Search Trees and go from there.
