Are you certain that he was actually baptized?

Details of my Church of Scotland christening are recorded on the reverse of my birth certificate and signed by the minister.

The Church of Scotland also had a monthly magazine "Life and Work" which from memory was published monthly. There must have been different issues for each Parish as I remember my parents keeping the issue that annouced their marriage and the relevant issues for the christening of each of their children.

Admin history The parish church of Elgin was dedicated to St Giles, the earliest record of St Giles Church dates back to 1224. Towards the late 17th cent when need arose for greater space for worship in Elgin a building by the name of the Little Kirk was constructed adjoining the church of St Giles. In 1778 the Little Kirk was made a Chapel of Ease. The original Church of Elgin, St Giles stood in Elgin High Street until 1826 when the church was demolished to make way for the current building. Elgin St Giles, formed a union with St Columba's South in 1999. The kirk was within the Presbytery of Elgin untill the late 20th Cent, it now lies within the jurisdiction og the Presbytery of Moray.

Thanks everyone, I've just tried that Moray.gov and it's not working at the moment so I'll try again later,
I'll have to contact the local church's but it's whether they'll have time to check considering I don't even know the year let alone the date butit's worth a try,
Thanks

It is possible that the relevant baptism register is still in the church. Our church (in Scotland) still has the baptism register from 1855 and it is in current use. so, it might be worth contacting the local churches.

Hi, I'm wondering how I find my dads baptism in the 1920s, in Elgin, Scotland.

I'm registered on scotlandspeople but it only seems to have an option for baptisms pre 1855, after 1855 is just statutory births, marriages and deaths,

Can anyone point me in the right direction please???
