If you know whereabouts they died you could contact the local council to ask if they can check their records to see if your gt grandparents were buried in one of their cemeteries.

Burial Register Searches
You can carry out a search of the cemeteries burial records by appointment only on weekdays between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. The search may be carried out at the Cemeteries Office, Chesterfield and District Crematorium, Chesterfield Road, Brimington, Chesterfield S43 1AU

Please contact the Cemeteries Office on 01246 345112 to make an appointment.

If you wish us to conduct a search on your behalf, there is a fee of £5 charged for each name searched.
