Can anyone please explain to me, in detail, what my niece does with the information I have sent her in this file form. How can she instal the information on her PC? I'm sure this is easy-peasy for some but I find the instructions non-sensical. :-(

First - does she have any family tree programme installed ?

Family tree programmes can be downloaded for free from the IGI website

You need a family tree program so open the Gedcom file in the tree format

If you Google their are several sites that you can download a free family tree program

You could also import your tree to sites like tribalpages where your family can acces the tree from
