Design Adjustments Applied

Phils message 9 Aug

Darker grey header, profile on post compressed. We have applied some minor adjustments today. These include, making the grey panel header slightly darker, and applying a border at the bottom to highlight the change. Also on the boards, we have compressed the profile details. When you hover over the image, the details will appear and you can click on the send message button. The reason for this change is to compress the post section on the thread view, and reduce the unnecessary white space. You should refresh your cache to ensure all the changes to effect.

Can somebody please explain this in step by step English :-S :-S

In order to cut down a lot of blank space on the message boards, they have reduced the minimum size of the posts.

To achieve this the information that was displayed in the Profile column under the avatar/image has gone from permanent display to a display in a box that only appears when you hover your mouse over the avatar.

Your browser may retain the old version of the page so you should clear your cache to get rid of it. How you do that depends on your browser but usually F5 or CTRL F5 will do the job.

I'm not sure which heading Phil is talking about. The heading with the name of the sender on mine looks green. For me it needs more contrast and the font to be larger.
I am now having to screw up my eyes to see who has posted which I never did before. Perhaps its just my eyes..

I cleared my Cache a few days ago (having been guided thru it by Porky Pie Roy).
I was hoping for some changes but nothing different appeared. I did manage to retrieve my emocions though.

KenSE - thanks for that. As soon as you mentioned avatar/image it was clear.

You have to move the mouse over the image or space for image to read Member since: or Posts: :-) :-)

Vera, I think he's talking about the one at the top which says Genealogy Chat. I suppose it is a bit darker and has a border.

I have made the font larger, so I don't have to screw up my eyes, by using Control and scrolling the mouse. I now have to move the screen across, but reckon that is better than not being able to see it at all!!

Oh I see that one. Well the contrast is still poor for me (maybe I need to clear that Cache again to get the update) but the letters are nice and big so that's OK.

I think it was Lady Kira who advised me to use control+ but found I was falling off the page. Maybe the heading with the poster's name, report and date was always small and what I am suffering from is resistance to change. I preferred the old page. All these shades of grey not good for old eyes.
