National Archives give some general information, with dates. What year are you looking for, and which island?

Hi Geraldine,

Thank you for the pm and apologies for the delay in getting back to you. The GRO will not hold details of marriages in the Channel Islands; instead you need to contact the various archive centres.

This leaflet

http://www.jerseyheritage.org/media/PDFs/Family%20History%20Leaflet%20pdf.pdf

provides contact details, opening hours etc. You will probably be best ringing to find out whether the information for the 1950s is available (or how long it is closed for), and how much it would cost for a look-up.

Hope this helps.

If you are looking for a marriage in Jersey let me have the details and I can look at the certificate for you and pass on the information.

Buying certificates from here costs £20 but I can look at them at the Jersey Archive and record the details for nothing - I'm there most weeks.
