John was a carpenter / wheelright and apparently had a carpentry shop somewhere in Picton New Zealand, he married Deborah nee Collins 1862 and she did the finicial side of things.
Would any one have any early eletcoral rolls to look up and see where it was and also where they lived.

What a lovely setting.

I should think it was even smaller then.

Many thanks Thelma much appreciated. It's solved where they were.

Yes Gwyn, Picton is a very small town but gets the trade through having our Picton to Wellington and return passengers, and on a nice calm day the trip is beautiful.

I guess that Deborah Miller is the death recorded in NZ 1903.
This woman was 64yrs old at the time. YOB circa 1839.

There are potentially 2 other deaths, but both women were too young to have married in 1862

John Miller age 69, buried 10 Feb 1908 in Picton Cemetery.

wow, thank soooo much Anne, mmm Deborah might be in the Upper Wairau / Wariau or Kaituna Cemetery with no h/stone. We've taken photos of all the h/stones in those cemeteries and there isn't one of her, but there's lot of unmarked plots though.
Think i'll get in touch with the sexton to see if she's recorded in there, as i'm after another two that could be in the Upper Wairau one also it will make it worthwhle.

Many thanks again.
