	'I want' is not a good start...........'please could you help' would be better If the father wasn't known, he wouldn't be recorded, and mothers were considered irrelevant

Member Since: May 2004 Posts: 1,067 Send Message	I'm sure that must be very unusual. I've never come across a baptism with no parents given, with no explanation. e.g. a foundling... Are both the mother's and father's names given on the other baptisms on the same page as your John Lord?

	According to my 1864 gazetteer, Wanborough is about 3 miles from Swindon, in Wiltshire, although it isn't very far from the Berkshire border. It also has its own parish church, St Andrew's, so perhaps that is the Baptism register that Wylde One has seen?
