Can anyone help iam looking for information about Mary Ann Thompson born about 1841 Gilling Richmond ,she was married to Thomas Harding Husband . Iam not to sure, i think her father was John Thompson a shoe maker.

There is a tree on ancestry actually has a copy of their marriage certificate attached.

Mary Ann's father is shown as ROBERT Thompson, a shoemaker. There are no father's details for Thomas Husband, who was a tailor.

The marriage took place 23 July 1864 in the parish church of Upleatham.

Thomas resided Guisboro' and Mary Ann in Upleatham. Both were aged 23.

The witnesses were Annie Thompson, Robert Thompson and Elizabeth Byers.

No, Thomas did not have a middle name on the index. But not everyone uses their middle names. As to her father being named as Robert rather than John, mistakes have been known to be made. On one of my own ancestor's marriage certs the registrar has written the bride's father's name as William and the groom's as John, when in fact it was the other way around.

The information i have is from my own father who talk about old mar Thompson.I know Thomas Harding Husband was born 1842 Guisborough his mother Catherine died shortly after his birth.There is no father named.His profession was as a tailor.
The problem i have is that marriage certificate i have states they were married 1864 in Upleadham her father as Robert Thompson and not John.Do i have the wrong certificate.As the rest of the information from the certfifcate fits
All the information you kind people have sent me points to a John Thompson which is right.

I have just looked at my papers about Thomas Harding Husband his baptise took place on the 16 jan 1842 Guisbrough his mother is noted as a single woman she died 23 jul 1842.Reggie you have written guisbro 24,356 is this a ref no?

Thanks for replying to my message so quickly.The information you sent is really great.The census helps alot,because i have a problem about her father,I have marragecertificate from Upleadham showing her father as Robert all the other infomation on the certificate fits.Thomas Husband a tailor born Guisbro.,but all the information i have received from all of you points to a John Thompson.So iam almost sureWhat are the chances of i have the wrong marriage certificate.What are the chance of 2 Thomas Husband(tailor) and 2 Mary Ann Thommpson born 1842 with 2 father a John and a Robert.Which one???

It looks like John is the father of Mary Ann Thompson. The wittnesses from the marriage certificate Annie and Robert could be her sister and brother a possibity.
