Pm received, and school admission sent.

Do you want the Goldsmith baptism?? Or do we need to look for a base born baptism with only Florence listed as a parent?

Edit - it could be right, if the priest asked for the child's name and assumed that Philip his father had the same surname of Goldsmith.

Your decision ;-)

Much thanks again to you. Seems a family trait of not marrying as my grand parents didn't marry until 1915 whilst my father was at war in France.
Have so many problems with these two names as Phil(l)ip was born in Princes Road Workhouse SE1 with his mother's surname - Goldsmith.

Grace Darling bap sent as an attachment to a PM.

Actually, Choccy's bap doesn't mention Down as a surname. It could have been missed off??

If you have Ancestry, you might be able to access the baps, but I think its one grade up from the standard level of membership.

I'll down load and see if they can be sent as attachments to a PM. It wouldn't necessarily be in the next few minutes!

Choccy thanks for your help also.

Not really. See Choccy's CofE Baptism..........assuming both the Philips are the same person, his parents must have been lapsed or RC converts.

Grace Report 25 Sep 2012 10:20

Can I possibly get/order the original Baptisms do you know please?

Grace

Grace Report 25 Sep 2012 10:17

Yes it fits exactly and also solves a problem with not being able to marry my mother until his first wife dies (as an R.C) I'm the youngest of 8 of only 2 surviving childen so I was shocked to find my parents were not married until 10 years before me.

You are a good detective lol
