Chris van der Kuyl ( CEO Bright Solid ) wants the company to become a major player ih the US hence sponsorship of Roots 2012. If he wants to take on the top guys though looks like he will have to save up.

Hmmm, maybe so, but Bright Solid (Part of DC Thomson) operates Scotlands People, not to mention Genes Reunited and other related assetts. S.P. is a massive resource and in the North American market could generate a lot of revenue.

My belief is that D.C.T. is ready to unload BrightSolid and this might be their chance. I hope Mr Van der Kuyl is in a position to name his salary because he could become CEO of the whole deal.

Perhaps I'm missing something but SP is already available to the North American market and anywhere else that has the internet. Having said that it will only generate revenue for Brightsolid as long as GROS gives them a contract to operate it, the current contract being for three years.

Quite right Denis, but DCT paid something like GBP 15 Million for Bright Solid and the asset value (last time I looked) was nearer 5. It would make sense (to me) for Ancestry to pull Bright Solid into the family.

Ancestry / GR/ SP and all the assetts that that implies for the researcher...makes sense to me.

You are clearly well up to date on all this. An interesting thought, but what stance would GROS take I wonder? Watch this space?
