My goodness, but i've just been on a major run of family history links. I'd been looking at a couple of unmarried sisters and wondering if they perhaps moved to a growing industrial area, Dysart in Fife around 1740. I found two marriages in that town, right ages, dates but what followed was amazing.

Using the Fife Family history society Death records I found one of these sisters married to a man called Burnet. His family history is mapped out in detail by the church records of Dysart which name many members of the family for each death which occurs in the parish. Father, Mother, Grandfather, Grandmother, occasionally sisters and brothers, trades...even cousins! The naming pattern for children also links up well.

You don't often get detail like this in OPR's and I send a thank you to the person who back in the 1700's took the trouble to list these details, as well as the Fife Family History Society who's C.D. incorporating OPR's, MI's, Newspaper records etc etc is an excellent resource for pre statutory death records. :-)

Thanks for posting this Malcolm as you have shown me the way to hopefully knocking down some brick walls with the Hodge line.

Can't seem to find where I can order the CD's though on the website
