I think that John is in the Army in 1871 and shown as born Stoke 1852

Fanny I think is Fanny Chalwin born 1852 Epsom

On 1861 as Chalwin but on 1871 as Charlin

I think this is probably Robert Legg with his grandparents in the 1911 census. The actual image for this census is in a bit of a mess with relationships not given and Fanny only named as Mrs. Legg:-

It says John Legg and Mrs. Legg have been married 25 years with one child who is still living.

I have had a pm from Joanne saying that they believe Charles Legg's parents were John Legg and Fanny Truelove.

I can't find a marriage for this couple.

Have asked Joanne to reply on the thread so everyone gets any information she may have.

I keep wondering if young Charles on 1901 census is really Robert but the image is clear as Charles
