I looked for my half brothers biological father as I do not know my half brothers surname.

Who did you look for in 'search all trees'?

I have checked trees but the person I am looking for doesn't appear. I have enquired about pupil records but unfortunately they no longer exist. I am now stuck, please help thanks

School records should be at the local archives. If you can work out which schools would have been nearby, you could email the local archives to see what records they might hold.

Do you know where old school records are kept? Did children go to school during the war years? Thank you for your time

What about school records, if you could work out the likely schools local to where he lived, and if he was old enough to be at school. It would mean ploughing through to find a matching address, but might be worth it, if the records have survived.

Thank you, the boy came to meet his father when he was a grown man and so knows his name. The boys mother moved away just before the war ended but no one knows where too. I've checked all the electrol roles and births relating to the people before and after the war. Thanks

Perhaps they remained at the address after the war? You could check Electoral Rolls for 1946 onwards for the address.

The only hope you have is if the boy was ever told his father's name, and he is a GR member with the father's name in his tree.....................

It doesn't look promising - there were no Electoral Rolls during WW2

Could anyone help. I know where my half brother lived during the war years but my father never married his mother. My half brother took his mothers maiden name, which I do not know. I only recently found out about what happened. I would like to trace my half brother but without a surname it is impossible. Does anyone know how I could trace someone if the only information I have is the address of where they lived during the war. I would be very grateful for any suggestions. :-)
