Hello Mary, one address may be where he lived and one may be where he died (if not at home).

Do you want to give us details of the person so we can check it out?

MC is likely to be correct. The home address was probably where the doctor certified the death.

My grt grandfather's is like that - certificate gives the home address but Probate entry gives a different one. Legend has it that he died on his milk round; my grandfather was pulled out of school to drive the horse and cart home.

Thanks +++DetEcTive+++

The 2 addresses are not that far apart so it could be a member of his family where he died

Very common, especially if someone dies in hospital

You will have 'place where death occurred' and 'place of residence'

And even a third for 'address of informant'

I bought a death certificate for my great grandfather who supposedly died digging the garden of a fellow villager.
This was 1937, so there are still family alive who remember this.

The certificate shows place of death as his own cottage.
When I asked my aunt about this, it seems villagers carried him home, while others summoned the doctor and so it was his home address where death was certified and consequently was recorded on his certificate.
