Fathers name on marriage cert

On my great grandparents mariage cert. it states that his father is a farmer, but I am pretty sure the father died some 20 years prior to this marriage.

On other certs I have, I have found if the father is dead the word "deceased" is in the box provided.

Was it the usual case to do this or was not the vicar told, hence it appears the father is still alive.

Or...do I have the wrong family ??????
