War medals

He would almost certainly have been entitled to campaign medals, but I think (no doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong) that you had to apply for them.

I think I read recently that people are still being sent medals won by relatives during WW2.

If he was killed in action it is possible that the medals were never presented.

Ancestry have

UK, Military Campaign Medal and Award Rolls, 1793-1949

If you care to give a name, will take a look.

Is there a way to find out if a member of the family had any war medals A member of the family died in action in1944 and the family always thought he had war medal/s but never saw any It would be nice to find out if he did
