Hi Everyone
Just a note to thank you all for your help. I have found the parents of my Gr.Gr.Grandfather were John Timmings Bapt. 25 December 1782 at All saints Church West Bromwich. His wife was Ann Warwick who he married in 1802.
John's parents were William Timmings & Sarah Dunn married 8th December 1768.
And so the brickwall is down and I can move on. Hopefully I can jhelp others on the site. David Timmins

Something I forgot to mention is there are several Samuel Timmins born around the same time but they are not to be confused with my family who lived and died in West Bromwich and had 11 children.

We are related way back to some of the other branches of the same family but I need help in tracking down John Timmings probably born around 1782 but I do not have a record only that he married Ann Warwick who sometimes was called Hannah or Anna.

Thanking you. David timmins

Hi Everyone
I'd better set out what info I have in answer to your different points made. Samuel was born on the 14th of May 1803 in West Bromwich. This is not from a birth certificate but from the death inquest notes in 1864. He was christened on 30th of May 1803 at All Saints church, West Bromwich the son of John & Ann Timmings recorded No. 40 in the Parish Records. He died suddenly on the 14th of September 1864. Burial unknown. He was married to Hannah Grice baptised 1806 at All Saints Church, West Bromwich the dau. of George & Jemmima Grice. Samuel & Hannah were married in St Matthews Church, Walsall 27 October 1823 record held. Hannah died 30 January 1876 at home in Church St, West Bromwich. Samuel is listed yearly as a Bricklayer living in Hargate Lane West Bromwich \in Pigott's Directory. Samuel was always recorded as Timmins although his father John was recorded as Timmings.
IThe help I am looking for is any details about John Timmings who married Ann Warwick on the 23 August 1802 at All Saints Church, West Bromwich. Any help would be appreciated. Thanking you for your replies David Timmins

It is his parents I want help if possible.

On the 1841 census Samuel is aged 35 living on Hargate Lane West Bromwich with wife Hannah and children. I can not find a birth with Parents names.

JoonieCloonie

JoonieCloonie Report 8 Dec 2013 22:50

and in 1841 it is rounded to 1806 which makes the post-1801 date most likely :-)

In 1861, his birth is recorded as c1804 in West Bromwich........

I couldn't even see him in a census to see place of birth stated ...

One of the two baptisms I had seen at familysearch earler is someone accounted for otherwise in censuses

Name: Samuel Timmins
Birth: abt 1803 - Church Eaton, Staffordshire, England
Residence: 1861 - Castle Church, Staffordshire, England
(parents Thomas and Sarah, 1803)

beg pardon, if in 1851 he is Samuel born c1800 husband of Hannah, the place of birth given is West Bromwich

Have you looked for baptism info for him?

https://familysearch.org/

Where he lived is not necessarily relevant

Where was he born?

When did he marry?

Can anyone please help me?

My Great Great Grandfather was Samuel Timmins who lived most of his life on Hargate Lane, West Bromwich.

I am having trouble verifying his Father & Mother?

I think they are John Timmins & Ann Warwick who married in 1802 at All Saints Church, West Bromwich.

Can anyone give me any information? I do not want to be be persuing the wrong John.

Any information or advice would be appreciated.
