last night i found an address in the newspapers it was
9 abinger street

what i would like to know what parish would this street be in please

looked on google but cant seem to find anything

or

i am just being thick

Technically,what Coccy's transcription shows is that St Mary's is the civil parish.
This is clearer if you do a free search on Ancestry's 1881 - enter location as Nottinghamshire and keyword as Abinger in a search at:
http://search.ancestry.co.uk/search/db.aspx?dbid=7572
then click on a suitable hit.

In this case, the image (which isn't free) shows the ecclesiastical district is also St Mary's.

This 1902 directory has it as Abinger Street, Southwell Road
