Thanks folks thought I would try last time I spent hours on the phone with ancestry just got oh well it will be wrong if you have cousins, I think they just work of a computer script and don't have the faintest idea of how the program works :-)

I can get it sorted I just have to break some family lines and then re-enter the people again, I think it seems to happen after it syncs but strangely the people affected have not been changed.
Last time it was after I added a stillbirth to somebody so it really went nowhere can't see how it did it I reckon it is just a glitch when the data is sent.

Marie, love your Avatar ;-)

Thanks again, :-D

I've got quite a few trees on Ancestry and do have cousins marrying but haven't experienced the problems you describe Mayfield.

Sometimes you get a better response posting a query on their Facebook page than by contacting them via customer support.

Well - I looked at a section of the tree view and everything seems OK.

Sorry

Sorry I can't help you. I read your thread as I use Ancestry but I don't have my tree on there. Hope someone else can help you.

Thanks for your interest nice to hear from you :-)

I'm not at all unhappy about being neglected sob! sob!
I will just sit here all alone in a puddle of my own tears and eat worms :-|

Best wishes,
Mayfield ;-)

At the moment, 24 people have looked, and I am the only one who has replied. (I did not want you to feel neglected).

Good luck in your quest, a bit of patience and someone might come in with a decent answer.

Yes but I thought I might try on here, quite often this is a better place to sort out Ancestry problems that Ancestry's site, and as for support forget it :-D :-D

Have posted on general in the past about Ancestry and got it sorted, but I thought perhaps this board might be more specific. :-)

If you mean that you keep your family tree on Ancestry, perhaps you should post this query on there?

Does anyone else get this problem or am I being singled ot! :-P

Ancestry runs fine then quite suddenly I open it and find couples linked and kids shared out like sweeties. People are overlaid on others and the only solution seems to be to delete key people and then reinstate them it than goes back to normal for a while before happening again.

I know Genealogy software cannot seem to get it's head around cousins marrying heavens knows why, it's common enough as families often seem to run along side each other for generations.

OK so my grandparents were cousins maybe that's why I ain't up to dealing with it ;-) but I do find it frustrating!

Regards,
Mayfield (inbred with faulty Genes :-S)
