On the basis that Mabel Jr's father was the head of the household, one could assume that her mother's maiden name was Steele. Richard Steele is named as the father in law

Neither the Mabel Kewan 1902 - 1936 nor the one 1915 - 1962 can possibly be either of the ones on the 1891 census. Stoopid me :-|
Unless that census fits in with your prior knowledge, it has no direct relationship & should be ignored

I didn't deliberately set out to look for duplications, I was looking for the other recent Prout thread that I had seen on General a few days ago and did a quick search on Prout.

I have several Prouts in my tree but they are mostly in Cornwall
