Children ……

David Davies bc 1859 Merthyr Tydfil – (marries Elizabeth Abraham 1879 at Nebo Chapel Pontypridd ( they travel to Australia in 1886, I have travel details and Marriage cert ,… (he is my 3rd great grandfather)
Mary bc 1848 .. ( I think she has died by 1861 census)

Sometimes worth a look on Welsh Newspapers Online http://welshnewspapers.llgc.org.uk/en/home

They cover 1804 to 1909

If Parish records are available on a CD then it's possible that Glam Fam History Society would know, and if a CD is available, they'd be selling it.

You may have found these already, after googling, but just in case...

Please would you C&P the census transcription(s).

Or give enough detail for us to be able to find them ourselves.

Please also say what you are trying to discover

There are no census results on FMP for Treorchy.

Ricochet

Ricochet Report 29 Jun 2014 08:47

A quick look at FMP shows no result for the name Watkins Jones in Treorchy

Could you copy some census data to help us.............or at least give us birth years and places of birth

Ricochet

Ricochet Report 29 Jun 2014 08:44

What are you looking for?

If you have all their census records, you should be able to make at least an attempt to find further details from freebmd

What was Ann's maiden name? Or was she David's sister?

If you want in-depth research in a Records Office, I would think that considerable expense would be involved

Morning

I am tracing my family in this district of Wales. I have joined Glamorgan Family History and have been in contact with the library several times but to no avail.
Familysearch and FMP have become almost impossible to look at ( but I have been on this trail for years) and I am on Ancestry. I have 'googled' looking for indexs.

Is there somewhere I can get a CD Rom or similar of the cemetery records or Parish records for this town or another records for that matter. What if they are 'non-conformists' ?

The name I am searching is David and Ann DAVIES, from 1850s to about 1911s .. which means a long painstaking time sifting thru records and checking them all.... not really what a 'look up' person has time to do. As I live in Brisbane Australia, it becomes a liitle harder to visit these places.

This family lived in the Bute/Dumfries streets of Treorchy, along with the extended families of John Davies, Watkins Jones, Albert Potter and William Griffiths.

Any advice greatly appreciated... :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Cheers
