Carole, have you considered using the Anglo-German FHS site I posted the link to? You need people with some knowledge of how things work over there, and hopefully there will there will be members with a knowledge of the German language too!
Good luck.

Quite patchem this info is from my sis-in-law's brother who's slow vague about the family. He's older so has more memories but reticent in obtaining info.
Anyway my sis-in-law is now going to write down all her family tree and join Ancestry
and follow up the Schnaittenbach links.
I don't think the the Morsack/Morsach line is findable in England till her mum Herta arrived here.
I've tried to find is there's a record of her on a ship to England I'm presuming from Bavaria as I'd assumed that's what the 1946 ID card enabled her to use for this purpose? However I draw blanks prob my lack of knowledge as never neede to research family from Europe.
thanks once again one and all :-)

Was the birth of Claudia and the marriage of her parents in this country, as cannot see anyone fitting the description?

Yes Gins that info is what we've gleaned about Herta, not sure it's her husbands DC
as Angelo was 51 when he married Herta in 1953.He was a widower on the MC.

Thank you DetEcTive I've passed all your info to my sis-in-law for her to follow through.

:-)

Try this 'contact us' link to Schnwaittenbach
http://www.schnaittenbach.de/kontakt.php

They may be able to give you details for the correct department

You'll need to do an internet search for the nearest Archive to Schnaittenbach, Bayern then email them., preferably in German! Keep the sentences short and simple and use an on line translation site. If you also include the original Englsh version, if the German version has come out as gobbleydee goop, they could probably piece it together from that.

As this lady was born 1929, in normal circumstances she could have been considered to be living. As this is the case, you may need to send them copies of the MC and DC to prove her death. They may also require you to explain your relationship to her.

Have you considered asking for advice from an Anglo-German FHS such as http://www.agfhs.org/site/index.php

Hello patchem and Jan
Got some more info from my sis-in-law, her brother feels that Ludwig was born 1900 so changed the DOB. Herta did have younger sisters and they were "teased" at school for having a Polish Jewish name. Was spelt Morsach then.
One of the sisters married a Max Mesmer (no idea why he recalls his name but not the sister) and they had a daughter called Claudia.
Story was Ludwig, Herta's father was "killed in action" all murky as those times were full of events people wanted to forget or only tell tell certain aspects, perfectly understandable.
Passed the link to my sis-in-law thanks Jan
:-)

You have Ludwig as born 1882 in your tree, any particular reason for this year, or just a guess?

Added:
There are various entries in ancestry for Ludwig Morsack, 1882.

Hi Carole,
Maybe you can put her full name and whether she names a father on her marriage cert? Might be a start anyway!
I am assuming she has passed away?

Hello
No idea where to start with this, trying to help my sister-in-law find her mother's family.
Last name is Morsack and all we have are the marriage cert which took place in London. Also have an ID card dated 1947 showing came from Bavaria, Germany.
Totally at loss how to access records for that area, or passenger list which would have her record.
:-S
