Hi, can anyone help with this one please, If I have the film number of a baptism, as listed on Ancestry Select records, would I be able to go straight to the baptism at the record office, or would I have to know the church where the baptism took place.

Just wondered as I seem to find a lot of baptisms on Select records from Manchester and can get to Manchester library to view the originals if needed.

Any help appreciated, thanks a lot

Marilyn

I think I'm right in saying that the film numbers are FHL (Family History Library) film numbers, which relate specifically to FamilySearch records.
They wouldn't be available at a public library.

The Manchester Family History Centre might be able to help - it's a FamilySearch centre.

Have a look at this site. If "Film No." is the same as "Batch No." then you should be able to view your Baptism on here.
