I'm forwarding this only for interest - I have not taken this up so cannot make any comment, favourable or unfavourable. :-D

Just do not see the point.
We are all from Africa, then via northern or eastern europe.
Anyone hoping to find relatives this way will be sorely disappointed.
To my mind a complete waste of money.
Sorry, if my comments seem harsh. but to me 'a fool and their money are easily parted'.
:-D :-D

Most people are too sensible to be taken in by something like this
Unfortunately, there will always be a gullible few, which is how con merchants prosper.

Why only one per person? does that mean if you do it twice you may get completly different results?

the thing is that DNA testing *can* find relations ... it has done just that for me and opened a new path to go down to try to find out who my ancestors were in one particular branch of my tree that has been a mystery because of such a common name and no good info about origins before the 19th century
... but ... it only happened because I had the testing done with a company that actively matches users with other people who test there (no matter what the surname) and also brings together people with the same surname interests in group projects
my male rellie's DNA matches very closely with someone whose ancestors come from the same little bit of Cornwall ... both our families left that area around the 1850s when so many people departed Cornwall, mine went to London and hers went to the United States
if not for DNA testing I would have had no idea of this connection with this name, which seems to be a common ancestor probably sometime around the year 1500, yes, our DNA match is close enough this can be estimated
eventually it may help me trace my own ancestors in that line before 1820 which I can't do now
just getting one's self tested can be interesting if one is interested in the science of DNA, to get general ideas of deep ancestral origin
for instance on my mother's side the male line DNA is the most common haplogroup (big DNA family) in England, while on my father's side the male line haplogroup is unusual in England and more Germanic ... so my two grandfathers were not related anytime in the last few thousand years :-) and as people in those two haplogroups do more refined testing, more is learned about the migration patterns that would have led them to where they are, if you are interested in that
but to use DNA testing to look for relations, you have to have somebody to compare your results to ... and to actually find relations, someone who shares an ancestor with you has to have tested as well, and their results have to be somewhere that you can compare yours with
so imagine how small the chances of that happening just out of the blue are
my own result was an enormous stroke of luck, that someone in the US had her 90 yr old dad's DNA analysed two years before he died, and a year before I had my rellie's tested
and when I did, bingo, I got the match ... and then because I was looking for a match with a different surname and I didn't recognize that name (especially since his father had changed it from a surname that might have found interesting because it is a name elsewhere in my tree to something shorter and simpler) ... I didn't even investigate the match for some time
when I did, I discovered that the family with the DNA match also matched exactly the details I had predicted I would find in a match: from Cornwall, probably emigrated to the US (which is where most people testing DNA are these days) or maybe Australia (it turns out that others in the same family did emigrate there), and worked in mining (Cornish miners are all over the world and my Cornwall family had mining in it)
so then we both had our rellies' sample tested in greater detail and that's how our close genetic match was confirmed and the 'time to most recent common ancestor' can be estimated
so really, yes, with luck and/or patience as testing becomes more popular and the databases grow constantly, it's possible to find relations and maybe even solve mysteries
but only if you have somebody to compare your DNA results with :-)
jax, 1 per person :-D ... yes, it's not like I would be ordering both a male and a female test for myself !
I think it was probably just standard language for the offer site or maybe means you can't order one for your mother and one for your father, say ... but since you can buy gift vouchers at the same price it seems kind of pointless to say one per person ...
I tried to test it out by ordering 2 ... but the deal has ended anyway so there we are

They are not getting my DNA I am keeping all for myself.
I will sell it to them though for a few thousand pounds. ;-)
