Thank you everyone for your help. I had just come across these old newspaper clippings and did not know how to preserve them. With your kind help, now I know what to do. Thank you.

You should scan your old photos and keep them on your computer before they fade too much. As already said, old photos will inevitably fade with time.

Here is a link to the acid-free sleeves/pockets mentioned by Kay???

Regarding old "brown" photos, I don't think there is much you can do to stop them fading - it is the way they were processed. It wasn't as permanent as it became later.

No doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

In the meantime, could you get a copy before they fade too much?
There are professionals who do this, or you could perhaps take a photo of them yourself.

does anyone know the best idea on how to keep old newspaper clippings such as birth announcements or death notices? I have a few and they are all turning brown with age. I would like to keep them, but I don't know the best way to store them. Also I have an old photo album that the photos are glued down to the pages. the photos are all fading quickly leaving no picture. Th album is quite large. Anyone know how best to store it so the photos won't fade anymore? :-S
