Its possible that it didn't have to go to Probate. Our neighbour's husband died last year and his widow had said they had written mirror Wills.
After a lot of agro, it was decided that the Estate was too small to go to Probate.

Same thing happened with a friend's father who died in 1998 - everything was left to his widow - no Probate calendar entry.

On the other hand, a work collegue who died last year 4 weeks after the neighbour IS listed on the calendar!

I have just been looking up lots of possibles for future reference.

It's a very good site and, if nothing else, will tell you the date of death in cases where you only have the Qtr (from FreeBMD). It isn't perfect, though. I started by looking for some where I knew there was a will, but there are some missing. Perhaps it isn't completed yet?

I just ordered one that had been meaning to do for a while......only because probate was granted the day I was born :-)

Anyway it should be available for me to view in 10 days and have 31 days to download it

Just hope I remember to keep checking my emails

After tomorrow the search should go back to 1858. See Mary's thread about the probate search room closure.

Edit: It seems to imply you will be able to order a download.

Just spotted this on another well known forum:

https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/?advancedSearch=True&IsGrantSearch=True#wills

It is a beta version of what, hopefully will become a full service - it seems to cover 1996 to present day, 1858 to 1996 and soldiers wills.

Guess what I sent off for yesterday - by post! :-|
