Hi all,

I researched the family of my daughter's fiancé, have it all in my tree. The engagement was broken off. How do I get rid of all his family from my tree - and having done so much work on it, I'd feel guilty at not providing them with all the info that I found. Can I split it off from my tree via a Gedcom?

Thanks

Meg

You'll need an offline programme on your home computer.

Down load the gedcom from GR and use the tree-splitter function to copy and remove the ex's branch. The chosen programme should give you instructions to follow but the most important one is to make a copy of the original to work on. That way if you make a mistake you still have it to refer to and to start again.
