I searched for 10 years to find a document that would place my grandfather with his parents. I had births or baptisms for all his siblings but nothing for granddad and he never appeared on a census with his parents. I had his father's name from his marriage cert and POB from various other documents. At the end of last year, I found his baptism (in new records on Ancestry). A real Eureka! moment! So, keep looking - new info is always appearing on various sites. |

I bet that was as good as any Christmas present for you Potty. After all that time it must have been thrilling for you to find his baptism. |

I get the usual updates from Ancestry but rarely bother looking as I've searched so many times for missing bits and pieces that I've assumed they just aren't available. However I recently got a message to say that the 1911 census had been updated. Had a look and to my amazement my hitherto lost grandfather popped up! |
