The site (GR) has been delivering some oddities over the last couple of days!

Thank you all so much for all your input. That's solved all that mystery.

I'm wondering if there was a glitch on the system yesterday, as I've just searched again just now and it came up on here straight away.

It could be that you are putting in too much info. Eg, using Joseph Thomas on freebmd to search for a death for the man mentioned in the probate record doesn't bring up a record but using just Joseph T does:

Deaths Sep 1961 (>99%)

SAMUEL Joseph T 59 Sidcup 5b 660

War deaths will be found on the CWGC site.

I wouldn't bother with looking for info about anything on GR, if I were you

There is this death which would make the St Olave one the correct age at death.

It is also showing on the index on GR. I can't access as I don't have the full subscription.

Does anyone know why I can find records on the Free BMD site, but my search on GR for the same person finds nothing!

In particular I am seeking a marriage of a Joseph Thomas Samuel to a Mary Davis in the December1925 quarter (St Olave's).

Equally, I can't find a death for Joseph either, but if he got killed in the war I guess it won't show on the GR records?
